Bookworms

Ben wanted to read Oliver some books, so we went into Ollie's room and got out the cute little books that "Mermif" gave Oliver.

Oliver is doing this thing where he rests his little head on his hand. It's funny to see such a little guy do that...sign of genius, I'm sure.

These two are pretty crazy about each other!!

Happy 7th Birthday, Captain Ben!!!

PIRATES!!
Ahoy thar, Matey!!
Saturday was the big birthday treasure hunt, so we put on our eyepatches and pirate skull caps and set sail for Wilson Park!!

Captain Ben was presented with the map, they read the first clue and they were off!!  It was kinda hard for the landlubbers (photographer/me) to keep up!

It's at the Castle!!

A HA!!  A blindfold for your one good "aye".
Clue #2 sent them after a "peg leg" on the bridge at Scull Creek (really, the creek is called Scull Creek.  It couldn't have been more perfect!!).

And they're off again!

"They got me peg leg"...and the next clue!!!

TREASURE!!!!!!

What's inside?

A PIRATE PINATA!!!!!!

It was too much fun!
After the pirate pinata massacre, we had cake....

...and presents.

"What do you do with a drunken sailor?"  Bury him in the sand by the swings, duh!

Yeah, that kid won't be coming back to any more Esty birthdays.  His mom will probably still be trying to get sand out of her car this time next year.  Whoops!
Here are some more pics:

Erin, Laura and Arrrrrliver
Chad and Ollie
Kenton and Ben
Yo ho ho and a bottle of....formula!

Time to load up the pooped pirates and head for the open seas.
This party was so much fun!!

The best park EVER!

I LOVE Wilson Park!!  It's my very favorite park around here.
On Sunday, we decided to get outside and walk around the park a while.
We dusted off Ben's old baby backpack and hit the trail.
But before we could go anywhere, we had to decide which hat Ollie would wear.
Bucket hat?

Oh.  Maybe baseball cap.

Here we go!!

This park has everything!
Pool (which was already drained), basketball courts, tennis courts, baseball field....

castle.....

...with moat.

We were walking along the trail and Ben (and no one else) heard the ice cream truck.

He took off!
See ya, Ben!
Last thing that we did was hang out at the playground for a little bit.

What a way to spend the afternoon!!
